Arctic Dawn provides therapeutic manual therapy and massage to both insurance-billed and self-pay clients. Billing and payment options are structured to support clarity, transparency, and informed decision-making. Services are provided at our Midtown Anchorage clinic, with billing available for eligible clients throughout Alaska. 

Insurance Billing (Out-of-Network)

Arctic Dawn bills insurance for therapeutic manual therapy as an out-of-network provider, except where specific participation agreements apply.

Arctic Dawn participates with Whole Health Living / TriWest Healthcare Alliance Community Care. For all other insurance plans, services are billed on an out-of-network basis.

Insurance benefits, allowable amounts, and reimbursement timelines are determined by the individual insurance plan. Arctic Dawn verifies benefits when possible; however, coverage and payment decisions are ultimately made by the insurance carrier.

Insurance coverage for massage therapy varies by plan and diagnosis. Coverage is not guaranteed, and clients are responsible for any charges not reimbursed by insurance. Any portion not paid by insurance is the responsibility of the client. 

Out-of-Network Care and Documentation

For out-of-network services, claims may be submitted to insurance on the client’s behalf when applicable. Reimbursement amounts and payment timelines vary by plan and are not guaranteed.

When appropriate, documentation may be provided upon request to support client-submitted reimbursement.

Self-Pay Care

Self-pay options are always available and may be selected regardless of insurance status.

• Standard session rate: $200 per hour

• Same-day self-pay rate: $150 per hour

• Self-pay packages are available

Self-pay sessions are not billed to insurance.

Personal Injury and Workers’ Compensation

Therapeutic manual therapy may be provided as part of an active personal injury or workers’ compensation claim when services are authorized as part of the case.

Billing procedures, documentation requirements, and payment timelines for these cases vary by claim and are determined by the referring party, claims administrator, or insurer. Services related to personal injury and workers’ compensation cases are coordinated on a case-by-case basis.

Documentation

All sessions at Arctic Dawn are documented clinically. Documentation supports continuity of care and may be used for insurance billing or reimbursement purposes when applicable.

Do you bill massage therapy to insurance in Anchorage?
Yes. Arctic Dawn Massage & Wellness bills qualifying therapeutic manual therapy sessions as an out-of-network provider. A valid referral and diagnosis code are required for insurance billing.

Can I use massage therapy benefits for car accident or work injury claims?
Yes. Massage therapy may be covered in personal injury or workers’ compensation cases with referral and approval. All billing is coordinated on a case-by-case basis.
